Could you explain what the Infantry mod is to people unknown with the Battlefield community?

The Infantry Mod is a modification of Battlefield 1942. It removes grenades, explosive packs, mines and all vehicles from the game.
The first versions only modified Stalingrad and Berlin, built in maps of the original game, but the current version 1.21 adds eight custom maps.
